Mobile Podiatrist (Part-Time / Contract)

Location: Lancaster, CA (Coverage Area: North LA & East LA)

Job Type: Part-Time / Independent Contractor (1099)

Settings: Nursing Homes / Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and self-motivated Mobile Podiatrist based in or near Lancaster, CA, to provide high-quality foot and ankle care to patients in Nursing Homes across the North Los Angeles and East Los Angeles areas.

This role is ideal for a practitioner looking for schedule flexibility while delivering essential podiatric services to the geriatric population. Reliable personal transportation and willingness to commute between designated facilities are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Evaluations: Perform initial and ongoing podiatric evaluations and assessments for residents in assigned nursing facilities.
• Routine Foot Care: Provide non-traumatic routine toenail trimming/debridement, callus/corn management, and routine care for high-risk patients (e.g., diabetic foot care).
• Minor Procedures: Perform infrequent in-office/bedside minor procedures, such as conservative or minor surgical treatment for ingrown toenails.
• Wound Care: Manage infrequent minor podiatric wounds and ulcers according to facility protocols and physician orders.
• Documentation & Compliance: Timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in accordance with facility and Medicare/insurance guidelines.
• Facility Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with nursing staff, facility directors, and attending physicians regarding patient care plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited podiatric medical school.
• Licensure: Active and unencumbered California Podiatric Medical License.
• Certifications: Active DEA License (preferred) and BLS/CPR certification.
• Transportation: Must possess a reliable personal vehicle, valid California driver’s license, and active auto insurance for commuting across North LA & East LA regions.
• Experience: Experience in geriatric care, long-term care settings, or mobile podiatry is highly desirable, but reliable and efficient compassionate practitioners are encouraged to apply.
• Skills: Excellent communication, patient rapport-building, and strong time-management skills.
